Pan Am History Hub
Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
This policy explains what information the Pan Am Historical Foundation (“PAHF,” “we,” “us”) collects when you visit the Pan Am History Hub (this website), how we use it, and the choices you have. The Pan Am Historical Foundation is a 501(c)(3) educational foundation. This website is a free educational resource about the history of Pan American World Airways.
Information we collect
Information you send us. This website has no contact forms, user accounts or comments. If you email us, for example at panamweb@gmail.com or pahfmemberships@panam.org, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you choose to write.
Basic server and site logs. Like most websites, our web server automatically records technical information about each visit. This includes your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request, the referring page, and the date and time. Our site software may also record addresses that return “page not found,” together with the referring page and browser type, so that we can fix broken links. When you use the site search, your search words are part of the page address and may appear in these logs; we do not keep a separate record of searches. We use these logs only to run, secure and troubleshoot the website.
We do not ask for, and this website does not collect, payment information.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not use advertising cookies. It does not currently use Google Analytics or any other analytics or tracking service. Visitors who are not logged in do not receive cookies from the website itself. The WordPress software that runs the site sets cookies only for site administrators who sign in.
If we add analytics in the future, we intend to use a privacy-respecting service, and we will update this policy before we do.
Because this website does not track visitors across other websites, it does not change how it works in response to browser “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signals.
Videos, exhibits and other embedded content
Many pages include videos embedded from Vimeo and YouTube. When you load or play an embedded video, your browser connects to that service. The service may set its own cookies and collect information about your visit, such as your IP address and viewing activity, under its own privacy policy. We do not control those cookies or that data. You can learn more in the Vimeo privacy policy (vimeo.com/privacy) and the Google privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
Our Clipper Hall exhibits at exhibits.panam.digital are built with Shorthand, a third-party publishing service. Shorthand and the services embedded in those exhibits may use their own cookies and similar technologies.
Links to other websites
This website links to other websites, including PanAm.org, Clipper Hall (exhibits.panam.digital), our YouTube channel, museums, libraries and archives. Membership sign-up and payment happen on JoinIt, the membership service linked from PanAm.org, and not on this website. Those sites have their own privacy practices. Please review their policies, because this policy covers only this website.
Children
This website is a general-audience educational resource. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
How we use and share information
We use the information described above to answer your messages, to provide information you ask for, and to operate, protect and improve this website.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the website and our email, such as our web hosting provider and our email provider, so that they can provide those services. We may also share it if the law requires us to, or if we need to protect the rights, safety or security of the Foundation, our visitors or others.
How long we keep information
We keep emails for as long as we need them to respond and to keep a reasonable record of our correspondence. Server logs are kept for a limited time and then deleted or overwritten in the normal course of operating the website.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, and the website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. However, no website or method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You can choose not to email us. You can block or delete cookies, including third-party video cookies, in your browser settings. You can also ask us what personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing us at the address below.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the “Last updated” date above.
